As a qualifier for the Heartland Series, The Showdown Rodeo has grown to include not only the PRCA rodeo, but other hometown favorites such as the Tamale Festival, AV Youth Rodeo, The Showdown Speed Spectacular and the Van Dam Barn Dance. This action packed, fun-filled week of "Rodeo Experience" brings something for everyone! Being a PRCA sanctioned event guarantees that The Showdown Rodeo attracts the top competitors and the best livestock. These cowboys and cowgirls will compete for almost $30,000 in prize money. With our entertaining and knowledgeable Rodeo Announcer, our state of the art sound system, and, of course, the WORLD'S BEST RODEO FANS on hand to cheer on their favorites, the energy and enthusiasm promises non-stop rodeo action that can't be beat. The Showdown Rodeo gives our fans and visitors an opportunity to see first-hand the real-life cowboys and cowgirls displaying their abilities in not only the fastest growing sport in America, but the only sport in the world developed from true working skills.
